Sustainability Projects
Rachel Carson College's theme of Environment & Society reaches far beyond the four walls of a classroom. Our Co-curricular programming strives to provide students with experiential learning opportunities, including volunteerism. Each year, the RCC Sustainability Projects join with local ngos, farms, and restoration sites to create service-learning opportunities. All first year students have the opportunity participate in this work, strengthening both their ties to the greater community and their college.
Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.
