Interview Process
There are two parts to the interview process. Applicants must complete both an individual interview and a group interview to be considered for a Student Life position.

  • Group Interview | Saturday, January 28th | 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The start and end time will vary depending on the number of applicants so all applicants should block their schedule from 8am-5pm on this day. The group interview process includes completing a number of activities with an assigned group. One of these includes presenting a 5-minute “How To” presentation. Applicants will select their own topic and should bring their own visual aids if applicable. PowerPoint will NOT be available for these presentations.  The observers will be looking for how applicants engage the audience, their level of preparation, and the content of the presentation
    • 5 Minute How To Presentation - Guidelines
Think of a program that you feel meets the needs of new students transitioning to college. Then create a 5 minute presentation that fits one of the two criteria listed below:
      • Explain what the program is, how it would be structured and how it would meet students' needs
      • Present a portion of the actual program you would put on
  • Individual Interviews | Between February 1st - February 7th
Applicants will be asked to sign-up for a time during these dates. The link for this sign-up will be emailed to you on January 23rd, 2017. Sign-ups will be online from: January 25rd, 2017 at noon - January 29th, 2017 at midnight. During the scheduled interview time, applicants should come to BL at least 5 minutes early and take a seat in the lobby outside of the Housing Office. A staff member conducting the interview will come to the lobby to get applicants when they are ready. Applicants should also bring their resume with them to this interview.
